Day 10!

So we’re now on Day 10 of Camp, and it’s going really well!  Despite some…adjustment issues I’ve had, it’s still been really fun, and I’m so glad I’m doing Camp NaNo.

So, yesterday.  I managed to finish all of my projects, and honestly, I think it’s totally doable to work on my other stuff during NaNo.  Of course, I will be working on two, so the last 10 days haven’t been completely accurate in terms of writing, but I think it’s doable.  Of course, it also depends on how close I am to being done on my different things, but my NCIS fanfic and the Giant Prehistoric Chicken should be done by then.  And Turning Point might be done as well.  I’ll definitely have a better idea by November, so it looks like most of my decision-making will be in October.

I did end up writing for Camp- I wasn’t sure how much I was going to write, but I did know I would write.  At first, I was going to write 667, but I kept writing and the next thing I knew, I was at 17,157!  I’m pretty happy with the amount I wrote, considering I didn’t have to write at all, much less 2071 words.  I was going to try writing more, but at 17,157, I felt bored so I figured that was a good place to stop.

I’m also hoping that I can work on my plot bunnies this week, because I’ve been neglecting them, and I don’t want to put them off until October.  The sooner I have them done, the better- I know I’ll be glad once I’m done planning everything, because it’ll be one less thing to focus on.  I’m not sure what I’ll work on, but I definitely need to work on something.  That, combined with my plan of doing Camp NaNo in the mornings, and then other stuff in the afternoon, and I should be busy over the next week!

Yesterday Was Hilarious

It’s time to share some of the funny stuff I’ve accidentally written so far!  I managed to get all caught up, which made yesterday even better!  So here we go:

  • “so why are you here earler?” aske gibbs.  (I know gibbs is a man of few words, but you’d think he’d be one to speak clearly.)
  • “There is ziva,” tim whispered. “Mcgee’s hjere, and he looks happy wjch might not last very long if he’s sees us at his desk.”  (I feel the need to bang my head against a wall repeatedly after noticing I typed this.)
  • “You know about abby, boss,” tony said.  “She things somethings wrong.” (I should hope Gibbs knows about Abby.  They’ve worked together for years now).
  • “If I don’t have to hide someone, then I won’t.”  (I would hope you’re not hiding anyone…)
  • “I could use another set of eyes,” abgy said.   “Time are you doing anything important?” (I’ve come up with a new character!  Meet Time, Tim’s evil twin.)
  • “Chasing down leads bossy,” gibbs sais.  (This made me laugh.)

The best thing I noticed from yesterday was the fact that I named my novel July 2010!  Which made me laugh, because I laugh at everything.  I’m going to keep it as is, because it’s too funny to change!  Yesterday’s final wordcount was 8344, and hopefully I can stay on track.

Food Update Plus Harry Potter!

I didn’t cook nearly as much as I had hoped, but at least I made a couple things.

Brown Butter Blondies

I made Brown Butter Blondies, which I found over at My Baking Addiction.  They were pretty good, although I’m not the biggest fan of butterscotch.  It was also my first time making blondies, and I’m definitely making them again.  I don’t know if I’ll use this particular again soon, although I probably will just to get rid of the butterscotch chips.

Rotini With Salsa Di Limone

I also made Rotini with Salsa di Limone, which I found over at the food network.  I didn’t have any tomatoes, so I opted not to use them, but it still came out yummy.  I guess you can’t really call it Salsa di Limone, since there’s no tomatoes in it, but the oil and the cheese and the lemon made it yummy!  After spending some time recently watching the food network, I’ve decided that I like Giada.  I checked out a couple of her books from the library, and I’ll probably review those in the next few weeks.

And of course, I have to talk about Harry Potter!  I finally got my tickets for it- I had a slight change in plans for it though.  I was going to go with friends, but I waited too long to get tickets at the theater we were going to, so they sold out.  😦  But I still want to go at midnight, since it’s the last Harry Potter movie ever, and if there’s a good time to see a midnight movie for the first time, it’s going to be for Harry Potter!  So I’m going with my mom instead.  I’ll try and get some pictures.  At the very least, I’ll bribe my mom with cookies or something to get her to take a picture of me, because I’ll be going in costume!  I’m super excited!  So excited, in fact, that I may see it twice, which is something I so rarely do.

The Weasley Twins

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a character spotlight, so I’m focusing today’s spotlight on the Weasley twins.  You can’t talk about one without the other, so you’re getting a good look at two of my favorite characters.

The Weasley twins are the comic relief of the series, eventually opening their own joke shop after leaving Hogwarts.  I had to giggle in the Sorcerer’s Stone when they joked about sending a toilet seat to Ginny.  Their birthday is certainly fitting as they were born on April Fool’s day.  Sometimes it seems like April Fool’s day is everyday with these two around.

The fact that they have their own drawer in Filch’s office shows the awesomeness that is the Weasley twins.  And their swamp was so epic that Flitwick left a small part of it in their honor.  And who can forget the whole “don’t worry about you-know-who because you should be worring about u-no-poo” thing was hilarious!

Fred dying was so sad- quite surprisingly, george survived.  I figured one of the weasley’s wouldn’t make it through the series, but assumed that if it were the twins, it would be both.  Also odd was George marrying Angelina, who I assume was dating Fred, although I don’t think it was ever mentioned in the books.  I’m justing going off of the fact that Fred and Angelina went to the Yule Ball together.

It was always entertaining to see what practical jokes they’d pull, and it turned out that their joke shop was a very successful venture for them.  Like Harry said when he gave the winnings from the TriWizard tournament to the twins, everyone could use a bit of a laugh in such dark times.

On a quick side note: they were absolutely hilarious in the movies.
