It’s time for another edition of Around The Internet, where I share some of the cool things I find on the internet. It’s a long one but there’s been a lot of interesting things I’ve come across.
- This article about a gardener killing people from beyond the grave was not what I expected.
- I never really thought about what Mardi Gras does to New Orleans but this article does a great job about talking about it.
- I tend to eat really similar things for lunch- some combination of chicken, rice and a vegetable, so I can definitely relate to this article.
- Reading about veterans committing suicide in VA parking lots made me sad and angry that they’re not getting the help they need and deserve.
- Here’s another interesting read: what we don’t talk about when we talk about serial killers.
- Hobbies are definitely important, and it’s why I’m glad I crochet. Also, I like crocheting, but I also don’t want to start selling it.
- This week in photos: 2019 Sony World Photography Shortlist|These photos make me want to play that one snowy level of Mario Kart|One Woman Used Her IPhone to turn her commute into some pretty awesome photos|The Loneliest Road In America|
- I liked this read about anger and irritability as signs of depression.
- Here are 10 facts about the Library Of Alexandria. On a related note, I really like the Great Library series by Rachel Caine
- I’ve been to quite a few book signings, and #10 is the one question that comes up pretty much every single time.
- I don’t usually buy greeting cards for people, but it is fun looking at them.
- Sometimes I read recipe introductions, sometimes I don’t. But they’re still pretty important.
- I can’t imagine being a kid, and knowing your whole is online.
- Re-usable bottles are everywhere now.
- This sounds like a fun DIY project: Decorating Trays With Adult Coloring Pages
- I use a combination of Goodreads, a spreadsheet, and the blog to track and journal what I read. It’s always interesting to see how people keep track of their reading.
- Friends Of The Library are pretty awesome, and I’m pretty sure the books I’ve donated to the library over the last year or so have ended up on their bookstore shelves.
- The only book in the children’s/YA realm I can think of that discusses periods is Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume. Books don’t really bring it up, do they? They definitely should.
- If you like hot sauce, you’ll love the history of hot sauce in America.
That’s all for today, and I hope today is a great one for you!
