Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely folks over at The Broke And The Bookish. Every week, bloggers share their own bookish top ten lists based on the topic of the week. You can check out Ten Tuesdays here.
Top Ten Favorite Picture Books
Today is all about books with visuals! Graphic novels and comics aren’t really my thing, so I decided to revisit my childhood and share my favorite picture books.
- Good Night Moon. This was one of the first books I thought of! It’s definitely a classic.
- If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. In general, I love I really like her picture books, but this one is so much fun!
- The Monster At The End Of This Book. I read this one over and over as a kid.
- Stellaluna. This was another one I read a lot as a kid. I haven’t read it in forever, so maybe I’ll read it at some point.
- Where The Wild Things Are. No list about picture books is complete without this one!
- The Velveteen Rabbit. This one was definitely a childhood favorite.
- The Very Hungry Caterpillar. How can you not include this picture book on a list of favorite picture books?
- The True Story Of The 3 Little Pigs. This one was so much fun to read as a kid.
- Dr Seuss. I love Dr. Seuss! I tried picking one…but I just can’t! There are too many good ones to pick from.
- Beatrix Potter. I don’t know that I could pick a favorite story of hers, but she’s pretty amazing.
Classic choices! Love it!
Thanks!
I work at a bookstore, and we still sell lots of Good Night Moon. I did do graphic novels, but I could have done a top ten of picture books too- I read quite a bit of them at the bookstore.
My Top Ten Tuesday
Good Night Moon seems like it would be really popular! I really want to pick up some picture books now!
Ahhh so many good memories! Excellent book choices this week. 🙂
Thanks! It really was a trip down memory lane!
All these remind me of childhood! Especially Stellaluna I completely forgot about that book until now and that’s so sad because it was my favorite!
Stellaluna was definitely one of my favorites! It’s such a good book!
